MAITLAND, Fla. (April 28, 2008) – Projects ranging from the creation of an interactive Web-based visit to Florida’s High Tech Corridor hosted by WESH Anchor Wendy Chioji to publication of a slick four-color magazine promoting the technology region to a North Florida conservation program for Florida Public Utilities won Curley & Pynn Public Relations three awards at the annual Image Awards gala Thursday, April 24.
The event culminates an awards competition conducted by the Florida Public Relations Association’s (FPRA) Orlando Area Chapter to honor outstanding public relations tools and programs.
“I’m proud of the depth of strategy that drives our teams and the excellent research-driven creative work they do for our clients,” said Roger Pynn, president and CEO of the firm. “These awards represent the standard of excellence to which our people hold themselves.”
The Maitland firm’s team was recognized with two Image awards, which are given to the best entry in each division. The first recognized the team’s editorial development and production of Florida High Tech Corridor Council’s annual magazine florida.HIGH.TECH 2008. The publication showcased individuals within diverse technology sectors as a way to give a face to the scientific advances thriving across the 23-county region.
To brand the Florida High Tech Corridor Council through another innovative program, Curley & Pynn utilized an effective multimedia plan for promoting its virtual Web portal, www.VisitTheCorridor.com. An online welcome center, the Virtual Visit gives site selection consultants and business prospecting decision-makers a chance to gain first-hand appreciation of the Florida High Tech Corridor without getting on a plane. The Virtual Visit program garnered Curley & Pynn’s second Image award.
The firm also earned an Award of Distinction, for its role in organizing Florida Public Utilities Co. “Energy for Life” Home Performance Makeover project. The special event educated customers on the importance of energy efficiency while rallying the community to assist residents who are unable to manage their own electric bills.
